Alicia Fordham Acupuncture College School Nova Scotia Halifax

Alicia Fordham, R.Ac

Clinical Supervisor

As a teen I was treated a handful of times by a wise and talented acupuncturist who left me with the sense that our bodies are not only connected to, but a fully integrated part of our environments. I went on to work in a variety of fields, and earned a BA in Social Anthropology, but the environment of healing I encountered in those treatments had really caught my attention. Later, while living in New York City, I met a Traditional East Asian Medicine Practitioner who helped me through some stubborn health concerns, sparking a lot more questions and inspiring me to return to school. I would soon find that studying and practicing Traditional East Asian Medicine connected the dots of many of my earlier interests, and is endlessly expansive, challenging, and rewarding.

After completing my Diploma of Acupuncture at Eight Branches Academy of Eastern Medicine in 2019, the Pan Canadian Exam, and a clinical internship in Toronto, ON, I worked in community acupuncture, and private practice. I have recently opened a multidisciplinary clinic in the North End of Kjipuktuk/Halifax: sunmoon room.

With a general practice, I treat a wide range of conditions including headaches, insomnia, chronic pain, and menstrual disorders. My treatments often include complementary bodywork modalities such as shiatsu, tuina, and moxibustion. The restorative and regulating effects of acupuncture inspire me daily, and I am grateful for the opportunity to practice this medicine.
